TIMELESS ADVICE TO HEED
Welcome to 16/07 and the TIMELESS ADVICE TO HEED is in 1 Samuel 16/07-
"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."
Samuel was sent by God to anoint one of the sons of Jesse as the next king of Israel - "And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth–lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons." vs 1
Samuel got carried away by the physical qualities of the firstborn of Jesse and assumed that he must have been the choice of God but God interrupted him from anointing him - "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him"
God told Samuel not to be deceived by physical appearance because He is never carried away by the physical state, status and status of anyone - "for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."
What God looks for more than anything else in anyone is the state of the heart - "but the LORD looketh on the heart."
- What you stand accepted or rejected before God is the state of your heart.
- What makes you irresistible to God is your heart condition and never your physical attributes.
- What makes you the divine choice ahead of all others is the feelings, thoughts and will of your heart.
- Who you are in your heart matters most to God more than anything else.
PRAYER
O LORD, MAKE ME A PERSON AFTER YOUR OWN HEART TO BECOME INDISPENSABLE, INESTIMABLE AND IRRESISTIBLE BFFORE YOU ON EARTH AND IN ETERNITY IN JESUS' NAME.
